Still Life – Paintings

Having studied ceramics I have always had a love of vessels. During lockdown when life became very home-based I began to make work focused on domestic pottery, specifically the tea service. The resulting paintings attempt to combine purely aesthetic concerns of composition and colour with representational elements in the form of teapots, jugs and teacups. This precarious balance of essentially abstract qualities with figuration never ceases to be a challenge.
